Alleged victims of slain gangster Nayeemuddin came forward today to lodge a complaint with the police alleging criminal intimidation by members of his gang.
Some employees of Hindustan Petroleum in Hyderabad approached the Bhongir rural police station in the Nalgonda district and lodged a complaint stating that Nayeem's gang had usurped their lands (which were bought legally by over 60 employees) on the outskirts of Boyenpalli. The complaint was then transferred to the SIT.
"One day when we went to the area to see our plots, a gang member named Posam Srinivas threatened us. He asked us not to come to the place again. When we resisted, Srinivas said that the land was already bought by 'Bhaisahab', and warned us to hand over their original sale deeds. Since we are only employees, we did not dare to oppose and did not file any complaint," they claimed.
The police concurred that the HP employees had already bought the lands a decade ago and had also gotten them registered legally following government norms.
The SIT, which is investigating the activities of Nayeem and his gang, met the victims and registered the information provided.
