The Special Investigation Team (SIT) set up to probe the crimes of slain gangster Mohammed Nayeemuddin today decided to initiate steps to speed up its investigation.
The SIT monitoring officer Anjani Kumar, IG Nagi Reddy and Mahabubnagar SP Rema Rajeswari held a review meeting at DGP's office on Tuesday, and discussed the possibility of a nexus between political leaders, police officials and the gangster.
The SIT officials have registered 30 more cases across Telangana against Nayeem and his gang, and have directed the local police to file chargesheets in their respective police stations.
The investigation team revealed that there would be major arrests in connection with Nayeem after the Ganesh immersion procession.
The SIT has so far filed 72 cases against Nayeem and his gang, and has already made 80 arrests across the State.
