The Telangana High Court today heard a case filed against the allotment of 11 acres of land in Kokapet to the ruling BRS.
The High Court issued notices to the State government and the BRS, and directed them to file counters in the issue.
The city-based Forum for Good Governance had filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) on the issue and urged the HC to cancel the allotment orders.
In its petition, the forum told the HC that some extremely valuable lands had been allotted to the BRS by the State government for a pittance - land worth Rs 50 crore per acre was allotted to the BRS for only Rs 3.41 crore per acre, and all the land allotment documents were kept secret to boot, the forum claimed.
Secretary of the forum Padmanabha Reddy, who filed the petition on behalf of the forum, alleged that it was also illegal to allocate another 11 acres of land to the party given that it already had an office in Hyderabad.
The HC later posted the matter for further hearing to August 16.
