Minister for Roads and Buildings Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Sunday made sensational remarks that BRS MLA Harish Rao had secretly met former State intelligence chief T Prabhakar Rao, who is the main accused in the phone-tapping case and is now in the US in the guise of medical treatment, and requested him not to come to India.
Speaking to the media, the minister alleged that upon the instructions of BRS president K Chandrashekar Rao, Harish Rao secretly went to the US on May 26 and called on Prabhakar Rao, as the latter was not taking KCR's calls.
"Harish Rao reportedly requested Prabhakar Rao not to to come to India, as there was a possibility of his arrest in the phone-tapping case. Moreover, all the atrocities done by the family members of KCR will come out if Prabhakar Rao returns to India. The BRS leaders fear that if Prabhakar Rao becomes an approver, there will be more trouble for the family, and KCR will too go to jail. Anticipating the impending crisis, Harish Rao advised Prabhakar Rao to stay in the US for some more time in the name of medical treatment," Komatireddy said.
He also criticised KCR for conducting the Telangana Formation Day celebrations a day earlier, and termed KCR "Telangana Jinnah".
"Muhammad Ali Jinnah also used to celebrate Pakistan's Independence Day celebrations a day earlier. KCR also held Telangana Formation Day celebrations a day earlier," he said.
