Governor Extends Sankranthi Greetings To Citizens

The Governor of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh said that the harvest festival occupied a significant place in the nation's cultural heritage.

Governor E S L Narasimhan today extended his greetings to the people of the two Telugu states on the occasion of Sankranthi.

The Governor said that on the joyous occasion of Sankranthi, he was conveying his heartiest greetings to the people of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The harvest festival occupied a significant place in the nation's cultural heritage, and deserved to be celebrated by all with gaiety and jubilation, he said.

He also said that the celebration of the festival represented the best aspects of the country's ancient and glorious tradition, and that it served to bind all sections of the society together.

He also expressed hope that the auspicious occasion would inspire noble thoughts of love, affection, amity and brotherhood among all citizens.
