Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president & MP Revanth Reddy today alleged that neither the union government nor the state government was taking any steps to provide additional security to him despite the directions of the High Court.
He made these remarks after lodging a complaint with Jubilee Hills police on the recent attack on his residence by TRS workers.
He said that the union government had provided security to 100 BJP leaders of West Bengal with a single stroke of a pen. He also pointed out that union government had provided paramilitary forces as security to state BJP leader P Sudhakar Reddy.
The union government was however not doing the same in his case, he lamented.
He also expressed shock over the non-registration of an FIR by the police even after his complaint.
Reddy also alleged that no cases had been filed against any TRS activists even after the attack on his residence, but that the police had booked illegal cases against the Congress workers.
He also claimed that Congress workers were being routinely threatened by city task force police.
He warned the police that the Congress would not keep mum if third degree methods were used against its workers. Congress leaders would remember all the police officers who supported the TRS, and action would be initiated against all such officers after the party came into power, he said.
