Condemning the allegations leveled against YSR Congress Party candidate Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, former Road Transport Corporation Chairman Gone Prakash Rao said that former Minister J C Diwakar Reddy, who he said had earned crores of rupees through dubious methods, has no moral right to comment against the former MP.
Diwakar Reddy had earlier alleged that Jagan had not disclosed his entire assets in the affidavit that he (Jagan) had filed with the Election Commission (EC).
Talking to media persons at the Assembly media-point, staunch supporters of the YSR Congress Party chief stated that there Jagan had no need to submit a false report on his assets.
Prakash Rao stated that Jagan had accrued his income by selling his shares in certain companies.
"He had also paid taxes on this income," the former RTC Chairman added.
He further alleged that Diwakar Reddy, after using Telugu Desam Party (TDP) members for cross-voting during the Council elections, was not shifting the blame on Jagan.
"The reason behind this is that the former Minister wants to cosy up to Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy," he stated.
"Jagan's nomination was accepted by the EC, despite many hurdles, and objections raised by various party leaders," Prakash Rao pointed out, and expressed confidence that the former MP will retain his seat, and that too, with a thumping majority. (INN)
