Lokesh Declares Family Assets, Demands Jagan Do The Same

The national general secretary of the main opposition party the Telugu Desam Party and party MLC Nara Lokesh Naidu on Thursday said that his family had told the Heritage group to not depend on politics for its livelihood.

Addressing the media at the party's central office in Mangalagiri of Guntur district, he said that the group did not benefit from Andhra Pradesh at any time - Heritage dairy products were being sold in 15 states and the company was providing employment to some 3,000 people across the country, he claimed. He also said that though the group had assets in nine states of the country, it did not have any in the state's capital region.

He also disclosed the assets held by his family. He said that his father and president of the party Chandrababu Naidu had total assets of Rs 9 crore and liabilities of Rs 5.14 crore, making his net assets Rs 3.87 crore.

He said that the assets of his father had gone up by Rs 87 lakh over the last year.

Lokesh Naidu said that his own total assets stood at Rs 8.14 crore, down by Rs 2.40 crore from the past year's number due to some of his assets being gifted by him to his wife Brahmani.

He also said the total assets of his mother Nara Bhuvaneswari stood at Rs 50 crore.

Targeting the ruling YSR Congress Party leaders, Naidu slammed them for targeting his family members with "baseless" allegations of corruption. Targeting CM Y S Jaganmohan Reddy indirectly and sarcastically, he said that such leaders should also declare their assets voluntarily instead of declaring them through the CBI and the ED. He mocked the ruling party leaders for offering him no response to his demand that they declare their assets.
