KCR Should Hold Talks With Anganwadi Workers: CPI
CPI national executive member Chada Venkat Reddy demanded that the government immediately invite the Anganwadi workers for talks and address their legitimate demands.

CPI national executive member Chada Venkat Reddy today demanded that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao hold talks with Anganwadi employees and resolve their legitimate demands.
He said that around 60,000 Anganwadi workers across the State had been striking for the past 16 days, leading to a lack of nutritious food for children in nearly 15,000 gram panchayats and tandas.
Chada said that the Supreme Court of India had suggested equal pay for equal work, but that only Rs 10,000 to Rs 12,000 was being given to the Anganwadi workers. He said that all kinds of government projects were being handed over to the Anganwadi workers, and that they were being continuously saddled with more work. He said that it was unfair to then not provide job security to them, especially given that most of them were from the SC, ST and BC communities.
He lamented that from the Chief Ministers of the combined State governments to KCR, every CM had promised job security for the women but had failed to do so. He demanded that the government immediately invite the Anganwadi workers for talks and address their legitimate demands.
