The Standing Committee of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has unanimously resolved to stop the demolitions of unauthorized constructions immediately.
The Standing Committee, which met at the GHMC Headquarters under the chairmanship of Mayor Mohammad Majid Hussain, asked GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar to write to the State Government seeking regularization of unauthorized buildings.
The Committee also recommended action against the concerned Section Officers and Assistant City Planners who ignored the construction of illegal buildings in their areas.
The Committee also unanimously resolved to stop the issual of trade licenses at the new rates. It asked the officials to continue with the old rates until the new rates were approved by the Standing Committee.
