The Communist Party of India (CPI) demanded that the State government order a comprehensive inquiry into the violent incidents in the Old City during the GHMC elections and initiate stern action against the culprits.
In a pressnote here on Tuesday, CPI Telangana State secretary Chada Venkat Reddy alleged that MIM activists attacked the TRS, Congress, BJP and CPI activists with the fear that they may lose their identity.
He said MIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi himself pushed Leader of Opposition in the Telangana Council Mohammed Ali Sabbir aside, and incited his followers to attack TPCC chief Uttam Kumar Reddy and damage his car glasses.
He said that the MIM activists resorted to rigging, and also attacked CPI leader and advocate Chandramohan when the latter tried to obstruct the rigging.
The MIM activists also attacked the house of none other than Deputy Chief Minister Mahamood Ali, and his son, Reddy noted.
He alleged that that MIM's atrocities continued just because of the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao's soft corner for the Party.
He demanded that the Election Commission order an inquiry into the allegations and violence. He also demanded that the government initiate action as per the law against the culprits whoever they may be by filing criminal cases on them.
