GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar warned the Property Tax collection staff of stern action if they failed to achieve their targets of collection for the year 2014-15.
During a review meeting with the senior officials at the Salarjung Museum on Friday, Somesh Kumar also directed the Zonal and Deputy Commissioners not to sanction any type of leaves to the staff. He also asked them not to tolerate any unauthorized absence.
Further, he said that the incentives to the collection staff would be doubled compared to last year.
The Commissioner said that nearly 43,000 commercial electricity connections had no trade licenses. He directed the officials to inspect all the households, and see that the trade licenses as well as the property tax assessments were taken up on priority.
The Zonal Commissioner (South), Deputy Commissioners, Valuation Officers, Tax Inspectors, Bill Collectors and other collection officers participated in the review meeting. (INN)
