GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar has appealed to all tax payers to remit their dues by the 29th to the 31st of March in order to avoid the penal interest which would be in effect from 1st April, as the GO Ms. No. 90 dated 1st March 2014 becomes null and void after 31st March, 2014.
The Commissioner instructed the tax payers to beware of the penal interest in case of dishonor of their cheques presented on or before 31st March, 2014.
Somesh Kumar said that special counters would be opened at all the 18 Circle Offices in view of the holidays on the 30th (Sunday) & 31st (Ugadi festival) of March.
He requested the tax payers to avail themselves of this opportunity and pay their respective property taxes before the end of the waiver offer.
He further said that online payments would be received up to the midnight of 31st March, and that the Citizen Service Centres would work up to 10pm on 31st March.
The Commissioner directed D. Jayaraj Kennedy, Additional Commissioner (IT), to be ready with technical support during breakdown situations, when there would be a heavy rush on the systems. (INN)
