The Anti-Corruption Bureau Court, on Thursday remanded junior lawyer Adithya, one of the accused in the cash-for-bail scam involving the granting of bail to mining baron Gali Janardhan Reddy, to judicial custody till 2 August.
The ACB court remanded Adithya to judicial custody when he surrendered before the ACB officials on Thursday.
According to the ACB, Adithya had allegedly received a bribe of Rs. 1 crore as part of a "deal" to grant bail to Gali Janardhan Reddy. Adithya was working as a junior to Gali Janardhan Reddy's lawyer Uma Maheswara Rao.
Following the court's directions, the officials shifted Adithya to Chanchalguda Central Jail.
The ACB has already arrested 6 accused in connection with the case, including judge Pattabhirama Rao, retired judge Chalapathi Rao, his son Ravichandra, judge Prabhakar Rao, judge Laxminarasimha Rao and rowdy sheeter Yadagiri Rao. (INN)
