TRS MLA T Harish Rao on Thursday demanded that the State Legislative Assembly "set aside the entire agenda" to discuss the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Bill for the formation of Telangana state.
Speaking to media persons at the Assembly's media point here, Harish Rao said that there should no further delay on discussing the Telangana Bill.
He said that though the decision of the Assembly was of no significance, the debate would fulfil a constitutional obligation of sending the Assembly's views to the Parliament.
Harish Rao also alleged that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu were very close friends though both "act as rivals" when amongst the people.
Citing an instance, he said that at Naidu's insistence, the CM sanctioned Rs 7,300 crore works for Chittoor district, including Rs. 2.84 crore for Naidu's Kuppam constituency.
Contrary to this gesture, he said that the CM did not act on representations made by the TRS seeking Rs. 1500 crore funds for developmental projects in Mahabubnagar and Nalgonda districts.
He alleged that both Kiran Kumar Reddy and Naidu are "protecting each other politically".
The TRS MLA asked the leaders of both the TDP and Congress to realise the friendship between Kiran Kumar and Naidu and to prevent themselves from "falling prey to their politics". (INN)
