Dalit Telangana CM Issue Only After Elections: Manda
KCR's promise of installing a Dalit CM in Telangana was modified by Manda Jagannadham who said that it could be discussed only after the 2014 elections.
Nagarkurnool MP Manda Jagannadham, on Tuesday, gave a new twist to the earlier promise made by TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao of making a Dalit the first Chief Minister of Telangana.
Speaking to media representatives, Manda said that the final decision on the issue could be taken only after the elections.
He tried to rubbish the allegations being levelled against KCR by the Telangana Congress leaders, including the rumours of him going back on the promise of installing a Dalit CM.
He said that the TRS will never tolerate any criticism against KCR.
Manda also slammed Telangana PCC president Ponnala Lakshmaiah for targeting KCR. He said that several Congress leaders who had never participated in the statehood movement were now attacking KCR only to gain political mileage.
He ridiculed the Congress' claim that it was solely responsible for the formation of Telangana, and said that hundreds of students had committed suicide due to the ruling party's delay in announcing its decision on the bifurcation issue. (INN)
