Telangana State Planning Board Vice-Chairman and TRS leader Niranjan Reddy today demanded that Telangana Congress leader G Chinna Reddy resign owning responsibility for the diversion of water from the Pothireddypadu project.
Speaking to the media on Tuesday, Niranjan Reddy said that the Congress leader brushed aside the Pulichintala project, and should resign if it were to be proved. Niranjan Reddy accused Chinna Reddy of diverting agriculture waters to Krishnaveni Agro Farms for his association with it.
The Congress leader dumped the farmers only to protect the interests of Krishnaveni Farms, he alleged.
"Congress leaders failed to protect Telangana's projects but completed Pothireddypadu during the YSR regime with the help of the Police, and ignored the illegal diversion of water" he said. Since his involvement was proven beyond a point, Chinna Reddy ought to resign, he demanded.
The State government, he said, would complete the Palamur-Ranga Reddy irrigation project despite the hurdles being created by the Opposition. The process of land acquisition was on and the government had already allocated adequate funds for the project to complete it as per schedule, he claimed.
