Telangana Education Minister G Jagadish Reddy has made it clear that free education from KG to PG was still under discussion.
Replying to a query raised by MLA R Ravindra Kumar and others during Question Hour in the State Legislative Assembly on Wednesday, the minister confirmed that the government proposed to provide free education from KG to PG, but that there would be no enrolments this year.
However, an amount of Rs 25 crores was provided in the budget for the year 2014-15 towards the program for the purpose of planning and other preliminary work.
The minister said that the modalities, time frame and budgetary requirements for the scheme were being worked out. (INN)
