Four Eve-Teasers Held At Quli Qutb Shahi Tombs

The Hyderabad SHE teams on Tuesday caught four miscreants of the Golconda area red-handed while they were harassing women at the Quli Qutb Shahi Tombs.

The offenders, Sd Mustafa Ali, 30; Sd Akram, 28; Sd Jahangeer, 22; and Md Raoof, 24; were taken to the SHE Teams office and given counselling. They were also warned against such activities in the future and asked to appear before the team every week.

In another case of obscenity in public, one Rokati Joel, a resident of Vanasthalipuram, was also caught red-handed by the SHE teams at the Dilsukhnagar bus stop misbehaving in public and flashing his private parts in front of women forcing them to leave the place. The episode was video-recorded by the team. During interrogation, Joel admitted to his guilt. He was subsequently arrested and produced before the Magistrate.

In an interaction with the media, Swati Lakra, IPS, Additional Commissioner of Police, Crimes and SIT, Hyderabad, stated that victims need not suffer in silence as the city's SHE Teams were just a call or a click away. Women could dial 100 or use the Hawk eye mobile app in case of emergencies. Complaints could also be sent as messages to the Whatsapp number 9490616555 and as mails to hydsheteam@gmail.com, put up as posts on the SHE Teams Facebook page, or tweeted to the hydsheteams Twitter handle, she said, adding that complainants could also walk into the office of the SHE Teams and Bharosa, Opposite Kalanjali, Nampally, at any time.
