Senior Congress leader and former MLA Samineni Udaya Bhanu, on Wednesday, met Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal at his residence, ostensibly to discuss the future political horizon in Krishna district.
What exactly transpired between the 2 leaders was not known, but sources indicate that the meeting discussed the way the political tide was flowing after reports that some senior leaders in the district want to join former Kapada MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.
The meeting assumed importance in the wake of the fast-changing political developments in Krishna district after the announcement made by Jaganmohan Reddy aboyt his plans to form a new party.
According to sources, the meeting lasted for nearly an hour and a half.
Later, talking to media persons, Udaya Bhanu kept his cards close to his chest. He stated that he would announce his future course of action based on inputs, and wishes of his supporters and party cadre in his constituency at a meeting on Thursday.
Earlier, senior Congress leaders Devineni Rajasekhar (Nehru), Mandali Buddha Prasad, Pinnamaneni Venkateswara Rao and Samineni Udaya Bhanu met at Nehru's residence over a luncheon meeting on Tuesday, and discussed what kind of stance they should adopt vis-à-vis Jaganmohan Reddy's political advances.
The former Kadapa MP has announced plans to embark on a 48-hour fast in the district from December 21st for the cause of farmers.
Nehru, Buddha Prasad and Venkateswara Rao are learnt to have felt that there was no need to take any hasty decision and the best possible policy would be 'wait and watch'.
