Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister K T Rama Rao inaugurated the First Level Flyover at the Biodiversity Junction today.
The inauguration of the flyover will ease the traffic congestion in the area by providing a conflict-free movement at the junction, and will provide much-needed relief to commuters moving on the Old Mumbai Highway from Gachibowli to Mehdipatnam (Raidurg).
The cost of the flyover was Rs 30.26 crore, and its length is 690 m (and width 11.5 m), with the carriageway being three-lane unidirectional.
The completion of this flyover along with the already completed projects of SRDP Packages-IV at Mind Space Junction, Ayyappa Society Junction and Rajiv Gandhi Junction, is expected to result in much smoother traffic between the Biodiversity Junction (Old Mumbai Highway) and JNTU NH 65.
Minister Sabitha Indira Reddy, MP Ranjith Reddy, Government Whip A Gandhi, GHMC Mayor Bonthu Rammohan, GHMC Commissioner Lokesh Kumar, Chief Engineer Ziauddin, SRDP S E Venkatramana and local corporators participated in the program.
