Noted Telugu film actress Sujatha, who was 58 years old, passed away today at her Chennai residence, due to ill-health.
Born on December 10th, 1952, into a Malayali family, the popular film actress had grown up in Srilanka and had done her first film at the age of 15.
Sujatha had acted in more than 300 Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil and Hindi films with legendary actors NTR and Akkineni Nageswara Rao, and also with popular actors Kamal Hassan, Rajnikanth, Krishna and Shobhan Babu.
The actress had won the Nandi Award (Best Supporting Actress, 1997) for her role in the Telugu Film "Pelli". The Tamil Nadu government had conferred the prestigious Kalaimamani Award on her.
Some of Sujatha's other films are Guppedu Manasu, Gorintaku, Edanthasthula Meda, Pasupu Paarani, Vamsa Gouravam, Sujatha, Bangaru Kanuka, Sandhya, Sutradharulu, Guru Shishyulu, Mayadari Krishnudu, Circus Ramudu, Asha Jyothi, Pranaya Geetham, Sirimalle Navvindi, Bebbuli, Anubhandham, Prema Tharangalu and Chanti.
Sujatha, who was known for most of her films with Kamal Hassan, had last acted in Nagarjuna's mythological film '
Sri Ramadasu'.
