Social Welfare Minister Pithani Satyanarayana, on Tuesday, condemned private technical colleges for threatening to go on strike over the delay in the release of the fee reimbursement amount.
Talking to reporters at the state Secretariat, the minister alleged that the private colleges have colluded with the opposition parties, and have thus been threatening to go on strike over the fee reimbursement issue.
He also accused YSR Congress president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy of politicising the issue while ignoring the facts.
Pithani said that the state government has been implementing the scheme since 2005 without any major glitches.
Stating that the state government has earmarked Rs. 3,600 crore towards fee reimbursement this year, he advised parents and students not to worry about the continuance of the scheme. He also warned the private colleges of stern action if they issue threats to the government. (INN)
