It seems as if the stage is set for former minister Etala Rajender's switch from the TRS to the BJP. He is yet to formally resign from the pink party.
The leader reached the city today after his Delhi trip. He was accorded a grand welcome by his supporters and followers at the Shamshabad International Airport.
They handed over bouquets and shawls to their beloved leader.
He was accompanied by a former MLA of the TRS, Enugu Ravinder Reddy.
During his visit to the national capital, (Rajender) met with several national-level leaders of the BJP including the party's national President J P Nadda.
Reports say that he will be leaving for his constituency Huzurabad on Friday (tomorrow). There, Rajender will hold a press conference to announce his resignation from the TRS and his decision to join the BJP.
Just yesterday, BJP state chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar had said, "Former minister and the TRS MLA Etala Rajender will join the BJP in a week's time. He will resign from his post as MLA to join. We have considered this switch and have even sought legal advice on the issue. Discussions regarding the specifics of the resignation will be held once the MLA returns to Hyderabad from Delhi. Etala Rajender has chosen to join our party as he was attracted by our ideals and the rule of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Our party is a good platform for activists of the Telangana agitation who have not gotten justice even after seven years of the formation of the state."
