Eid-ul-Fitr was celebrated with religious fervour across Telangana today.

The festival marks the end of the holy month of Ramzan.

Devotees offered mass prayers at Eidgahs and mosques across the State, and hugged each other.

The largest gathering was witnessed at the Mir Alam Eidgah in Hyderabad where about two lakh people attended the prayers.

Several Telangana ministers, including Talasani Srinivas Yadav at Sanath Nagar in Hyderabad, Jagadish Reddy at Suryapet and Errabelli Dayakar Rao at Palakurthi, attended the prayers and extended their greetings to Muslims.

Assembly Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy at Banswada, Government Chief Whip Dasyam Vinay Bhaskar and MP Ravichandra at Hanumakonda, and other leaders at various other places also attended the prayers and conveyed their greetings to Muslims.

The police made elaborate security arrangements at the mosques, open grounds and crowded areas in Hyderabad and other parts of Telangana where prayers were held. Traffic restrictions were imposed to avoid congestion.
