The Enforcement Directorate (ED) told the Supreme Court today that it would file its counter on the bail petition filed by BRS MLC K Kavitha, by August 22.
Additional Solicitor General S V Raju told a bench comprising Justice B R Gavai and Justice K V Viswanathan that the CBI had already filed a counter affidavit in the case, and that the ED counter affidavit was being prepared and would be filed by August 22.
Following this submission, the hearing of the case was postponed to August 27.
On August 12, the Supreme Court had sought a reply from the central investigation agencies on the petitions filed by Kavitha challenging the Delhi High Court's decision on her bail plea in the ED and the CBI cases.
It is a known fact that the CBI and the ED have registered separate cases against the Telangana MLC, who is also ex-CM K Chandrashekar Rao's daughter, in the Delhi liquor policy case. The ED arrested Kavitha in Hyderabad on March 15. She is currently in the Tihar jail in judicial custody.
