The Rouse Avenue court in New Delhi has extended the judicial custody of BRS MLC K Kavitha in connection with the liquor policy case to May 20.
Kavitha was produced before the court virtually today. During the hearing, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials requested the court to extend the judicial custody of Kavitha by 14 more days to aid the investigation.
The ED told the court that the investigation of the case was in progress and that a supplementary chargesheet had been filed with 8,000 pages. The court said that it would inquire into the issue of considering the supplementary chargesheet filed by the ED on May 20.
Kavitha was arrested on March 15 in connection with the Delhi liquor policy case. Since then, she has been in Tihar Jail under judicial custody.
The Rouse Avenue court has already rejected the interim and regular bail petitions filed by Kavitha challenging her arrests by the ED and CBI in the case.
However, she challenged the trial court verdict in the Delhi High Court. The hearing on the bail petition in the High Court will be held on May 24.
