The custody of BRS MLC K Kavitha, who has been arrested in the Delhi liquor scam case, was extended by another three days by a designated ED court today.
She was taken into ED custody for seven days after her arrest, and after the custody ended today, she was produced before the Rouse Avenue court in Delhi for an extension. Advocate Joyab Hussain appearing for the ED sought permission to interrogate Kavitha for another five days alleging that she was not cooperating with the investigation. He said that the ED wanted to question Kavitha along with other accused in the case Sameer Mahendra.
Hussain said that the ED had analysed Kavitha's mobile data, and that the data on her phone had been deleted.
"Sameer Mahendra is also Kavitha's benami. She is also not giving any information regarding Rekha Saran. We have also asked her for details of her family's income tax and businesses, but it has not been given so far. And the data on her mobile phone has been deleted," the ED's counsel told the court.
The court agreed to extend her custody by three more days after hearing the arguments.
