The Rouse Avenue court in New Delhi once again gave a jolt to BRS MLC K Kavitha in the Delhi liquor policy ED case, extending her remand.
Kavitha was produced before the court today by ED officials after her judicial custody in Tihar jail ended.
Judge Kaveri Bhaveja then extended the custody till July 3.
Kavitha was shifted back to Tihar jail thereafter.
The court said that Kavitha would need to remain in the jail as the trial in the case is yet to begin.
Kavitha has been lodged in Tihar jail since March 26.
Besides Kavitha, Damodar Sharma, Raj Kumar, Charanpreet and Arvind Kumar Yadav are the accused in the case. Only Kavitha and Charan Preethi are under arrest - the court granted bail to the other three on a surety of Rs 1 lakh each.
Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia has been in jail for the past two years in the same case as he has not been granted bail. Kavitha too will then likely have to stay in jail for a while before she gets bail.
