Congress Faces Tough Task Deciding Candidate For Khammam
It has become a tough task for the Congress to name a candidate for the Khammam Lok Sabha constituency, with a name coming up for consideration every few days.

It has become a tough task for the Congress high command to name a candidate for the Khammam Lok Sabha constituency seat election, with a new name coming up for consideration for the ticket every few days.
There is a a huge demand in the Congress for the Khammam ticket in the Lok Sabha elections. While senior leader V Hanumantha Rao is strongly lobbying for the ticket with the party high command, three ministers are trying to get the seat for their family members. As a result, it has become a tough task for the Congress high command to select the candidate from the party.
VHR said that he had wanted to contest from Khammam in the last elections but was declined the party ticket, and that he went along keeping party unity in mind.
"However, I deserve to contesting from Khammam, and the party high command should consider my candidature," he said.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka's wife Mallu Nandini, minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy's brother P Prasad Reddy and minister Tummala Nageswara Rao's son T Yugandhar are also trying to get the party ticket.
In addition to this, Jetti Kusum Kumar, a businessman; V V C Rajendra Prasad; former MP Ramasahayam Surender Reddy's son Raghuram Reddy; and former minister Mandava Venkateswara Rao who was with the TDP and the BRS in the past; have also come to the fore of late.
Sources said that the party high command reportedly decided not to give tickets to the family members of the ministers, and asked the leaders to suggest alternate names.
The party cadre are eagerly waiting to see who will eventually get the Khammam ticket.
