Telangana CEO Shashank Goel today ordered an inquiry into allegations of VVPATs being shifted against norms in the Huzurabad by-election during the voting process.
The CEO directed the Karimnagar district Collector and the Returning Officer to give a report after an inquiry.
Earlier, BJP leaders D K Aruna, Raja Singh and N Ramchandra Rao had met the CEO and complained that VVPATs were shifted and changed against the norms.
The BJP leaders demanded a CBI inquiry into the violations and action against those involved.
Responding to them, Goel said that any complaints of VVPAT shifting violations would be dealt with seriously.
Separately, Goel also addressed a review meeting with officials of the Karimnagar district on the counting arrangements.
The counting of the votes will be done on November 2.
Meanwhile, the CEO is scheduled to address an all-party meeting on November 1 on a special amendment to the voters' list for 2022.
