A man and a woman, both allegedly drunk, were caught at Madhapur late on Friday night for reckless car driving and hurting several passers-by.
The duo were identified as Nanduri Kiran Reddy, who was driving the car, and Anu Gupta. They were taken to the Madhapur police station.
The drunken duo then went on a rampage even in the Madhapur police station ransacking it.
Police said that Kiran Reddy had been arrested even earlier under the PD Act, and was involved in 13 criminal cases all over Telangana. A rowdy sheet had also been registered against him in Kakinada in Andhra Pradesh. He was also banned from entering pubs in Hyderabad.
Police said that things started when the duo were coming towards Madhapur from Hitech City at very high speed, and rammed into another car coming in the opposite direction. Reddy and Gupta then chased the other car, pulled out the occupants and heaped abuses on them.
When the victims lodged a complaint, the Jubilee Hills police rushed to the spot, and took Reddy and Gupta into custody after examining them through a breathalyzer.
At the police station Reddy and Gupta created a violent scene saying that they knew top police officers. Gupta also went berserk attacking the furniture in the station. Women police were called in to control her, and cases were registered against the two.
Reddy's fingerprints revealed his criminal history.
