BRS working president K T Rama Rao today addressed the party leaders of the Hyderabad and Secunderabad Parliament constituencies at Telangana Bhavan.
Accusing the Congress again of going back on its promises to the citizens of the State, KTR demanded that the Congress introduce free electricity under the Gruha Jyothi scheme with immediate effect, and alse make it applicable to tenants who stayed in rented houses.
He also asked the people not to pay their power bills until free electricity was provided under the scheme as promised by CM Revanth Reddy during the election campaigning.
He recalled the words of Revanth Reddy that Sonia Gandhi would pay the current bills after the Congress came to power. "If the officials ask for payment of current bills, show them Revnath Reddy's video. And send your current bills to Sonia Gandhi's house at 10 Janpath in New Delhi," he said.
KTR also demanded that the Congress government immediately start disbursal of Rs 2,500 to every woman in the State under the Mahalakshmi scheme.
"And it's not the reneging on just these two schemes. In just 50 days of Congress rule in Telangana, people of many sectors, including auto drivers, are suffering and are committing suicides. The farmers are not receiving the Rythu Bandhu money, and women are not receiving the promised Rs 2,500. The Congress government is trying to escape from implementing its promised schemes. The people should remember that Congress did not give six guarantees, but made 420 promises. The BRS will not spare the Congress government if it tries to escape fulfilling its promises," he said.
KTR also said that the Congress and the BJP would come together after the Parliament elections and that Revanth Reddy would become Eknath Shinde of Telangana.
"Revanth Reddy has become a mini-Modi in Telangana with BJP blood running in him. While Rahul Gandhi speaks against Adani, Revanth Reddy is striking business deals with him. He attacked Adani previously but is now shaking hands with him in Switzerland. Revanth Reddy had earlier said that Adani and the Pradhani were double engines, and now it has become a triple engine," he alleged.
Slamming Revanth Reddy's statements about burying the BRS 100 metres below the ground, KTR asked him to concentrate on delivering his promises within 100 days first. "And why will you bury the BRS? Is it for achieving Telangana, for developing Telangana, or for questioning the false promises of the Congress?" KTR asked. "The BRS has seen thousands of arrogant leaders like Revanth Reddy in its journey. The party has stood strong for over two decades, and has shown such leaders their place," he added.
