Don't Turn Telangana Into Another Bulldozer Raj: KTR To Kharge
The BRS leader accused the Congress government of violating the law and rendering the poor homeless by demolishing their homes without due legal process.
BRS working president K T Rama Rao today urged Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge to ensure that Telangana did not become another "bulldozer raj" under the Congress government's rule.
He expressed grave concern over the actions of the Congress government in Telangana, accusing it of violating the law and rendering the poor homeless by demolishing their homes without due legal process.
KTR reminded Kharge of the latter's own statements, where he had condemned the demolition of homes and rendering of families homeless in other States as both inhumane and unjust, and asked whether Kharge supported the Congress government's actions in Telangana where similar "atrocities" were now being committed.
In a tweet, KTR brought to Kharge's attention the demolition of 75 houses belonging to the poor in Mahbubnagar town, which took place at 3 am without any prior notices. He said that of those 75 destitute families, 25 were physically disabled.
KTR said that law without due process was not law but a modern-day civilization abomination, and asked the Congress leadership how they could justify the demolishing of the homes of poor families, many of whom had been residing in them for 20 to 40 years, without any notices being issued.
KTR urged Kharge to advise the Congress government in Telangana not to let the State become another bulldozer raj.
