Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao today refuted the allegations of BJP leaders that he had made derogatory remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a recent public meeting.
Addressing the media after holding a TRS MPs' meeting at Pragathi Bhavan today, the CM clarified, "I did not make unsavoury comments against Narendra Modi, and may have just made some remarks with reference to Andhra Pradesh and the 70-year rule by the Congress and now the BJP rule. Modi and I have cordial relations, and the TRS government will extend need-based support to the Centre on some issues. I will welcome it whenever there are chances for Telangana leaders to serve at the national level, and will continue to give ideas to the Modi government in the future. The Telangana BJP leaders should not cross their limits by making baseless charges."
The Chief Minister said that the Centre had repeatedly failed to give funds to the flagship programs of Telangana, prompting his polemic.
"We sought Rs 24,000 crores for these programs and projects, and the Centre denied us funds," he said.
