Derecognized Engg Colleges To Be Part Of Counselling
The High Court ruled thus, and also said that JNTU was the inspecting authority, and directed it to conduct inspections once again and submit a report.
Engineering colleges' managements in Telangana on Tuesday heaved a sigh of relief with the High Court's suggestion to the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) asking it to give permission to the colleges derecognized by it to participate in the admission counseling to commence from July 8.
It may be recalled that JNTU withdrew permission to 25 engineering colleges on the grounds that they lacked minimum facilities. Subsequently, the colleges approached the High Court and argued that JNTU has no authority to conduct inspections. They also alleged that JNTU was harassing the colleges in the name of inspections.
The JNTU lawyer argued that the colleges which were being derecognized by the University had no lab facilities, and their staff were teaching in multiple colleges.
After hearing the arguments of both sides, the High Court made it clear that JNTU was the inspecting authority, and directed it to conduct inspections once again and submit a report to the court. (NSS)
