TRS leader and former Choppadandi MLA B Shobha today joined the BJP in the presence of the state party president K Laxman.
Former MLA Balu Nayak also left the TRS and joined the saffron party.
Speaking on the occasion, Laxman said that Shobha joining the BJP reflected the injustice meted out to her in the TRS.
He also called the Mahakootami an unholy alliance, and claimed that candidates who got elected from the Congress and the TDP would anyway join the TRS later.
Shobha alleged that she did not get a TRS ticket due to Ravinder Rao and Santosh Kumar, who were relatives of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao. Playing the SC card, she also claimed that she was denied the ticket because she belonged to the Madiga community, and that the people would teach a lesson to the TRS for the injustice meted out to her.
She also criticized KCR for not supporting 33% reservation to women in Parliament.
Laxman welcomed Shobha and her supporters by wrapping saffron shawls around them. Former union minister Bandaru Dattatreya and Kishan Reddy were also present.
