CM N Kiran Kumar Reddy conveys his Dusshera wishes to all the people of the state. He also thanks the Almighty for protecting from the cyclone Phailin.
CM Mr. N Kiran Kumar Reddy wished the people of Andhra Pradesh a happy and prosperous Vijayadasami, today.
In a special message to the people of the state, on the eve of the Dusshera festival, he said "Let this Dasara festival bring us all joy and happiness. Let us all live in peace, prosperity and fraternity". He said the legend behind this festival is "triumph of good over the evil". He hoped that the festival heralds all-round prosperity for the state of Andhra Pradesh and the Telugu people.
The CM thanked the Almighty for saving the state of AP from a huge loss as the Phailin cyclone crossed the coast without much damage. He thanked all the public, his cabinet colleagues, public representatives, officials, departmental heads, NDRF team, army, navy, District Collectors, media and all others who stood with him in facing the Phailin cyclone which was thought to be a very severe cyclone. "It is all a team work and I thank everyone," the CM said.
The CM said that AP has made rapid strides in every sphere, and is regarded as the investors' best destination. With the good rains this year, he hoped that the agricultural produce will be very encouraging and that the farmers would stand to gain. He said that AP is a happening state and "there is a great future ahead for the Telugus".
Kiran Kumar Reddy said that he had extensively toured 12 districts of AP as a aprt of the "Indiramma Baata" progamme and stayed in rural areas and has also interacted with a cross section of people like farmers, tribals, students, SHG women, youth etc.
He said that he was able to study the ground realities and take remedial measures, and that he had sanctioned many programmes as per the desire of the people. He said, "Our state is endowed with rich natural resources and a long coastline. It is industrially strong and is one of the biggest agricultural producing state contributing to the Nation's food security."
The CM reminded that many new schemes like the SC, ST Sub Plan, Bangaru Talli, Re.1-a-kg rice scheme, and many other had been introduced to benefit 2.25 crore families and 7.5 crore people. He said that funds had also been released for priority schemes through green channel, and other welfare and developmental schemes that are being implemented in the right earnest. (INN)
