CS Somesh Kumar Meets HRDCL Over Link Roads
Telangana Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar today directed the HRDCL officials to take steps to reduce traffic congestion on the streets of Hyderabad.

Telangana Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar today chaired the 12th meeting of the Hyderabad Road Development Corporation Ltd (HRDCL) at the BKKR Bhavan.
Speaking on the occasion, Kumar lauded the efforts of the body in improving the road connectivity within Hyderabad by constructing several missing link roads.
However, he added that more work still needed to be done to further reduce the vehicular congestion on the city's streets.
In this regard, the CS directed the officials to identify all the areas that were choked by dense traffic, and to resolve the issue by constructing more bridges across the Musi to divert the excess traffic from the areas, opining that this would spur the overall development of the city significantly.
MAUD Principal Secretary Arvind Kumar, R&B Principal Secretary Sunil Sharma, Finance Principal Secretary K Ramakrishna Rao, GHMC Commissioner Lokesh Kumar, Hyderabad Commissioner of Police Anjani Kumar, Additional Commissioner of Traffic Police Anil Kumar, TSSPDCL Managing Director G Raguma Reddy and R&B Engineer-in-Chief P Ravinder Rao also participated in the meeting.
The HRDCL, upon the instruction of MAUD Minister K T Rama Rao, has taken up a project to construct link roads across Hyderabad to improve mobility along the primary traffic corridors in the city.
In the first phase of the project, the body undertook the construction of 37 link roads at a cost of Rs 313.65 crores, of which 23 links are nearing completion. The remaining works will be completed under phase two, which will be undertaken soon.
