CS Holds Meet On Finding Overseas Jobs For Telangana Youth

Telangana Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar today held a meeting at the BRKR Bhavan on helping Telangana youth find overseas jobs, and took stock of the measures initiated by various departments towards providing employment abroad.
He directed the officials to expedite the process of identifying all interested and capable candidates who were interested in working abroad.
The Chief Secretary asked the officials of the health department to identify nursing courses' candidates / nurses and get them registered in the new TOMCOM (Telangana Overseas Marketing Company Ltd) app that the officials said was developed on the 100pins platform.
An SMS should be sent to all the registered nursing practitioners and nursing courses' candidates who were willing to go abroad, the CS said. A message should also be given through the call centre, he added. And all candidates registered with TOMCOM already should be targeted and preliminary screening tests should be conducted for them, and candidates who were seriously interested in taking up jobs abroad should be considered for such jobs, he said.
Similar processes should be taken up for auto mechanics, construction workers, drivers and other such professionals, he added.
Officials informed that a project monitoring unit has been set up in TOMCOM for the purpose, and 20 countries had been shortlisted as priority nations to focus on for overseas job opportunities.
