The Dharna Chowk Parirakshana Committee has demanded that the state government revive it at Indira Park.
In the dharna held at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, three resolutions were passed. The first was the demand for the revival of Dharna Chowk at Indira Park. Another was asking the people across the nation to condemn the TRS government's "suppressive" attitude towards people and democratic rights, and the "anti-people" governance of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao. The third was asking the Union government to initiate action to continue Dharna Chowk at Indira Park and oppose the "undemocratic and dictatorial rule" of the TRS government.
The Dharna Chowk Parirakshana Committee convener (and CPI state secretary) Chada Venkat Reddy and co-convener Prof P L Vishweshwar Rao participated in the program. CPI general secretary Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy, CPM general secretary Sitaram Yechuri, CPM state secretary Thammineni Veerabhadram and several others also participated in the dharna. They alleged that the TRS government was suppressing the people's democratic voices and criticized the "anti-people" policies of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.
Speaking on the occasion, Thammineni Veerabhadram sarcastically asked the award-giving committees to confer a "Telangana Hitler Award" upon Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, saying that moving Dharna Chowk out of Indira Park in the state capital was nothing but marauding upon the democratic rights of the people. Chada Venkat Reddy also aired a similar opinion.
