CPI, TJS, TDP Slam KCR On Secretariat Demolition
The parties said it was strange that instead of providing more doctors and staff in the government hospitals, KCR was building a new Secretariat with Rs 500 crores.

Opposition parties CPI, TJS and TDP today hit out at the TRS government on the demolition of the Secretariat buildings and the damage caused to a temple and a mosque on the premises.
They expressed concern that Rs 500 crores of public money was going to be wasted by the KCR government for the new Secretariat, and appealed to the citizens and intellectuals to oppose the government efforts to spend such huge money in these testing times.
The court has stalled the demolition of the buildings till Monday, and the government should not go ahead even after that, they said.
They accused Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao of ruling dictatorially and of trying to divert the people's attentions from his failure to control the coronavirus from spreading.
"What is the need for a new Secretariat when the coronavirus is scaring the people with about 1,500 to 2,000 new cases being reported every day?" they asked. "Instead of providing more doctors and staff in the government hospitals, KCR has taken up the construction of a new Secretariat, and that too by violating norms. We condemn the adamant attitude of the government on the issue. Let the money be spent on more facilities to treat coronavirus cases."
