Communist Party of India (Marxist) state secretary B V Raghavulu on Sunday accused the state government of neglecting the 104 and 108 medical emergency services.
Raghavulu was addressing the employees of 104 and 108 medical services, who are staging a dharna at Indira Park.
Raghavulu said that the Congress government, which introduced these services with much fanfare during the elections, has used the scheme for its publicity alone, and that it later completely neglected the department.
The government has been taking steps to enhance salaries of elected representatives, but it has failed to act on the demands of employees of 108 and 104, he stated.
The CPI (M) asked the government to implement the 8-hour duty rule for employees of 104 and 108 as per GO Ms No. 3, and also provide them job security.
He also demanded that the government immediately release salary arrears for the employees and regularize their services. (INN)
