Secretary of the Telangana unit of the CPI Chada Venkat Reddy today handed over the B Form to the party's candidate for the upcoming MLC elections in the Khammam-Warangal-Nalgonda graduates' constituency.
The form was handed over to candidate Jayasarathi Reddy, a TV journalist, at a party meeting that was held at the Makdoom Bhavan in Himayat Nagar. Leader Palla Venkat Reddy and other CPI workers were also present for the meeting.
The MLC elections in both the Khammam-Warangal-Nalgonda and Hyderabad-Rangareddy-Mahabubnagar graduates' constituencies will be conducted on Sunday, March 14.
The CPI has been creating quite a ripple in the state lately. It had organised
a demonstration against the rise in the prices of fuel in the country, yesterday.
In the protest, held at Himayatnagar, the party's leaders and workers slammed both the Modi-led union government and the KCR-led state government for failing to control the price rise, and claimed that the failure showed the "anti-people" inclinations of both the governments.
They also demanded that the prices for fuel be reduced immediately to "relieve" the poor and middle-class sections of the country from "added economic burdens", and warned that the failure to do so would prompt the party to launch "continuous and intensified protests".
