Suravaram Praises Jagan For Samaikhyandhra Efforts
Suravaram said that though his party is in favour of the formation of Telangana, it condemns the process being adopted by the Centre to divide the state.
CPI general secretary Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy on Saturday praised YSR Congress Party's chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy's efforts to keep Andhra Pradesh united.
Speaking to media persons after meeting the YSRCP delegation led by Jagan in New Delhi, Suravaram said that though his party is in favour of the formation of Telangana, it condemns the process being adopted by the Centre to divide the state.
He said that the Centre did not take all the stakeholders into confidence before implementing the decision.
He also made it clear that he differs with the YSRCP's stand on Telangana.
However, he added that the Centre should implement the division process in a cordial atmosphere.
He also said that the CPI would not allow any injustice to be done to the people of the Seemandhra region.
Suravaram also said that the Centre should not be allowed to misuse Article 3 in the process of the state's division.
Any abuse of Article 3 in the division of AP would set a bad precedent, and would be continued by the Centre, to change the boundaries of other states in India, Suravaram said.
Steps should be taken to prevent any misuse of Article 3, he added. (INN)
