YSR Congress Party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy called on BJP president Rajnath Singh in Delhi on Friday, seeking the BJP's support to keep Andhra Pradesh united.
Speaking to media persons later, Jagan said that during his half-hour-long meeting with the BJP chief, he requested him to play his part in stopping the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. He said the actions of the Congress-led UPA government have raised serious questions on the existence of democracy in India. He urged all the opposition parties to join hands and oppose the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Bill.
"What is happening in Andhra Pradesh today might happen in Tamil Nadu or Karnataka tomorrow," he said.
Jagan stressed the need for joint efforts to stop the bifurcation process, which he alleged is being carried out in an undemocratic manner. (INN)
