A commotion erupted in the Telangana Assembly on Thursday as Anantapur TDP MP J C Diwakar Reddy raked up a controversy with his remark against the Telangana Congress that it was witnessing its own death in Legislative Houses in AP, Telangana and the rest of India.
Earlier on Wednesday, Diwakar Reddy had said that the Congress would die soon as it was not very impactful in the House in Telangana. To rake up more furore, he said that the Telangana Reddy community leaders were "useless" compared to their Seemandhra counterparts.
In a brief interview with the media in the CLP office in the presence of AICC member V Hanumantha Rao on Thursday, Sudhakar Reddy alleged that it was not proper for Diwakar Reddy to pass such insensitive remarks.
Sudhakar Reddy said that the TDP leader visited the CLP office as a guest and Telangana Congress leaders respected him and offered tea, but he refused it and insulted them instead.
"Diwakar Reddy should have accepted customaries from the leaders. But he instead made provocative remark," he lamented.
Sudhakar Reddy said that he would raise the issue in Party forums.
"The Congress is slowly picking up in Telangana. How can JC say that the Party leaders were not working up to the mark? He should have worked for the Congress instead of joining TDP. We don't need his certification," he said.
