National president of the Congress Sonia Gandhi today called veteran leader of the party V Hanumantha Rao to enquire after the latter's health.
During the telephonic interaction, she reportedly asked Rao about his health and conveyed to him her wishes for a speedy recovery. She also asked the leader to look after himself well.
In response, he told Gandhi that his condition was currently stable, and added that he had suffered from kidney infections besides suffering from Covid-19 earlier. He then thanked Gandhi and AICC General Secretary K C Venugopal, who
called on him yesterday, for their concern and good wishes.
The senior leader has been
undergoing treatment at the Apollo Hospital in Hyderguda since June 27 - after the septuagenarian complained of acute stomach pains, his family had immediately rushed him to the healthcare facility.
The doctors treating Rao, who has reportedly been contending with kidney-related problems for some time, had said that his condition was stable, and that he would be discharged soon.
During his stay at the hospital, various party colleagues have paid visits to VHR - while former minister J Geeta Reddy visited him yesterday, TPCC head A Revanth Reddy had
met him on June 28.
