Newly appointed TPCC head and MP A Revanth Reddy today called on veteran Congress leader V Hanumantha Rao. He went to the Hyderguda branch of the Apollo Hospital to meet Rao, who was
admitted to the facility recently after he complained of acute abdominal pain.
Speaking to the media after his meeting with VHR, Reddy said that the respect he had for his senior had only increased after speaking to him. He said that the leader had spoken to him about critical party matters, making suggestions for its development despite being unwell.
Targeting Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, he alleged that the CM had not built a 125-feet-long statue of B R Ambedkar even though he had promised to do so. He noted that the statue needed only four yards of land.
Talking about the Congress' commitment to social justice, the TPCC head also claimed that the Congress-led state government of undivided Andhra Pradesh was the regime that was responsible for having brought in the SC ST sub-plan for the development of the two communities.
He said that the Congress had worked constantly to provide employment, fill up SC/ST backlog vacancies, and implement fee reimbursement schemes for economically disadvantaged students during its rule.
