Government Whip and Vemulawada MLA Aadi Srinivas today criticised BRS MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy, accusing him of attempting to provoke regional sentiments by making controversial remarks about Andhra "settlers" in Telangana.
Srinivas said, "Kaushik Reddy has made derogatory statements, suggesting that Andhra settlers came here just to survive. This is an insult to those who have chosen Telangana as their home."
He added, "While the BRS seeks votes, seats and even financial support from the people of Andhra, they conveniently disrespect them when it suits their political agenda. It was these very settlers who protected the dignity of the BRS during the Assembly elections in Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy districts."
"Once their needs are fulfilled, the BRS turns around and degrades the Andhra people in the city, claiming they came to Hyderabad only for survival. The true face of the BRS has been revealed," Srinivas continued.
"Is former chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao endorsing the comments made by Kaushik Reddy against the Andhra people in Hyderabad? Are BRS MLAs from Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy districts in support of these remarks?" Srinivas asked.
Demanding immediate action against the BRS MLA, Srinivas said, "If Kaushik Reddy's comments are not backed by the BRS, then he should be expelled from the party without delay."
